Hunter Classical Christian School in-person classes are suspended due to COVID-19.  We are replicating our classroom experience through distance learning.  We continue to deliver our mission to challenge the mind, nourish the spirit, and develop the whole child, remotely.

If you have any questions regarding the lessons plans your child’s teacher has prepared and sent electronically, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher.  If you need technical support for web-based class instruction via Zoom, please do not hesitate to contact a teacher or administrator.  HCCS will continue to support our students and families as we move forward together!

Our Vision

Hunter Classical Christian School is an educational community which strives to teach students how to think, not just what to think. Our mission is one of service for the glory of God and the health of the family, with your child being our highest priority. We know your most important investment is the heart and mind of your child.

We are excited to introduce you to the sound, classical learning method guided by Judeo-Christian principles at HCCS. When a child’s mind is based on a firm foundation they enjoy finding answers. HCCS students are encouraged to delight in teaching themselves new information, and to seek the good, the beautiful and the true. The universal and unchanging themes of human existence inform our classical curriculum.

Our students are growing in our core values:

  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Excellence

We develop confident, faith-filled leaders that act with moral integrity and possess strong intellectual foundations for a lifetime of learning and growing. Watch our short video below to learn how we provide our students with an engaging and positive learning environment.

For more information about HCCS, please call the school office at 804-708-0048 or request an information packet to be sent electronically.

Portrait of a Graduate

At HCCS, we begin with the end in mind. We strive to develop faith-filled leaders who pursue excellence in academics and life, with a heart to serve the Lord and others. As we cultivate our student’s minds to think well, we aim to train our students to rightly order their affections to pursue goodness, beauty, and truth whether they are in the classroom, on the athletic field, or in their community.

Our Graduates:

  •  Act with moral integrity
  • Possess a strong intellectual foundation
  • Become confident, faith-filled leaders

We equip our students to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually after their time at Hunter. As a K -8 school we provide a firm foundation from which our students can go anywhere. Hunter students have matriculated to schools across the city of Richmond and Central Virginia including at Collegiate School, Goochland County Public Schools, St. Christopher’s School, Veritas Classical Christian School, and Virginia Episcopal School, to name a few.
